Biography
Emily Kay (born August 13, 1974) is a German author known for her upcoming vampire romance trilogy “Eulenflucht” which was influenced by the song “Geisterfahrer” of Tokio Hotel and the planned angel romance trilogy, which will be dedicated to Bill Kaulitz, who inspired her for the angel main character when he appeared on the catwalk for the DSquared2 Fashion Show in Milan.
Emily Kay was born in the Ruhr Valley in Germany and is still living there. After school she studied English and German Literature.
Emily had never written a novel before “Eulenflucht – Durch die Nacht”. But all of her life she felt that the day would come to bring her thoughts out on a paper. This day came in February 2009 when she woke up and knew that she will begin to write her first book in 2009. She collected all of her thoughts and visions on tons of paper and started writing on “Eulenflucht – Durch die Nacht” in September 2009.
Inspiration
Emilys writing is strongly influenced by “the right music”. She cannot imagine to write without having a certain playlist. Bands which appear most often in her playlist are Tokio Hotel (of course), Morrissey, The Smiths, Oasis, The Verve, Richard Ashcroft, The Cure, Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers, U2, Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash, The Doors, 30 Seconds to Mars, The Mission, Nirvana, Linkin Park, Foo Fighters, The Ramones, The Clash and 80s stuff.
Personal Interests
Emily is strongly into music, movies, fashion, tattoos and of course books. She likes running through the forest and visiting concerts and jumble sales to look for story tapes and vintage stuff. Besides she loves soccer and handball and extreme sports. She is a vegetarian and supports PETA and GREENPEACE. Her personal style of fashion is strongly influenced by the rockabilly, punk and gothic scene.
